ECOPILOT results will make advanced sustainability assessment more accessible, transparent and reusable. The project will produce a conversational Copilot platform, predictive LCA modules, EF-aligned datasets, compliance validation logic, Digital Product Passport and Green Claims support, pilot validation evidence, training resources and policy outputs.
The ECOPILOT Conversational UI and guided wizard will provide the main entry point to the Copilot. It will support users through EF-aligned Life Cycle Assessment workflows by translating complex methodological steps into clear prompts, structured inputs and guided decisions. The interface is designed to reduce the data burden for SMEs and innovators while keeping every assumption traceable and reproducible.
The Zero-Shot LCA Estimator will help users generate draft LCA models even when product or material data is incomplete. By using proxy recommendations, reference datasets and uncertainty tagging, the module will support early-stage eco-design decisions and make sustainability assessment more practical for companies that do not yet have complete LCA inventories.
The compliance validator will embed EF, CFF, DNSH and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design rules directly into the ECOPILOT workflow. It will check inventory completeness, functional unit alignment, allocation consistency, circularity assumptions and methodological requirements, helping users understand whether their assessment is coherent, auditable and suitable for compliance-oriented reporting.
ECOPILOT will develop an AI-driven predictive characterisation factor library to address gaps where full environmental method coverage is not available. The library will support the assessment of substances, emissions, waste flows and transformation products relevant to emerging materials, providing uncertainty information and provenance metadata to strengthen transparency.
The Dynamic LCA Module will enable time-sensitive modelling of inventories, scenarios and environmental performance. Instead of relying only on static assumptions, users will be able to explore how impacts change over time, including evolving foreground processes, future energy contexts and long-lived product scenarios.
The Circularity Simulation Module will support circular economy assessment by enabling users to model reuse, recycling, substitution and end-of-life scenarios. It will help translate Circular Footprint Formula logic and Annex C assumptions into practical decision support for product development and material substitution.
The Digital Product Passport Generator and Green Claims Verifier will transform ECOPILOT assessment evidence into structured, compliance-ready outputs. These tools will help users organise the information needed for Digital Product Passports and evaluate whether sustainability claims are supported by transparent and traceable evidence.
The project will generate FAIR, EF-aligned datasets for emerging materials and reference product LCAs in the furniture and mattress sectors. These datasets will include provenance metadata, uncertainty information and persistent identifiers, making them reusable within the Copilot and suitable for future interoperability with relevant European sustainability data infrastructures.
ECOPILOT will validate its tools through furniture and mattress pilot cases focused on coatings, adhesives and flame retardants. The pilots will generate evidence on usability, transparency, decision support, data requirements and the transition from manual EF LCA workflows to AI-assisted assessment.
The project will also produce training material, stakeholder workshop outputs, policy briefs, dissemination reports and exploitation resources. These results will support capacity building for SMEs, innovators, policy actors, verifiers and other stakeholders interested in safe-and-sustainable product development.
